Be Crafty love

Olivia StewartComment

Based on my most recent blogposts it probably seems like all I do is go to Be Crafty Workshops (trust me I would if I could).  These workshops are too fun not to share on here both because I want to remember them and to encourage other like minded friends to come with me next time!  Mark your calendars ladies, May 2nd is the next workshop.  Registration isn't open yet but you can find more information here.

I mean seriously, look at this dreamy buffet!  When you combine the powers of Melissa, Lesley, Jessica and Amanda the results are beyond gorgeous!

Who wouldn't want to spend a kid-free afternoon being creative with a room full of girls and pretty crafting supplies?!

Lesley Zellers came to share some of her chalk writing expertise with us.  She is uber talented!

Even after teaching for two years in a classroom with only a chalkboard I still struggle writing with chalk.  Lesley shared great ideas and tips.  I managed to find enough courage to actually write on my newly crafted chalk banner.  I knew if I didn't do it there I wouldn't be brave enough to do it later!  Yes, I know chalk is erasable but it is/was daunting to me.  Now I am excited to keep practicing!

Love these girls!  Thanks again, and hopefully I will see you on May 2nd!!!

Coming soon!

I spent a lovely Thursday morning with my dear friend Jessica getting photos taken so I can add some new products to my threadjoy shop!  Nursing Coverup & Infinity Scarves should be listed next week!  Not only are these scarves adorable, you know I love me a good scarf, but they are designed to be wide enough to nurse or pump discreetly underneath.  The great thing is that when you are finished nursing you still have a cute scarf to wear!

Also coming soon will be more reusable snack bags and pacifier clips from these new fabrics. Here's hoping this weekend finds me covered in thread and bits of fabric, just how I like to be!

2014 Person of the Year

Olivia StewartComment

I don't usually nominate a person of the year but Gina has had such a profound impact on my life that she deserves the title!  I'm not sure I can describe with words how she has blessed me but I will try.  We met at a BeCrafty event this past spring and after only a few minutes with her I knew we would be dear friends.  While we painted and sewed she skipped the small talk and shared her heart for finding her identity in God, her Beloved.  When I am struggling she encourages me with her story and her perseverance.  She is lovely, kind, compassionate, crazy crafty and talented and has a huge heart for people.  She shares parts of her story on her blog called Contemplating Beauty.  I hope you all have a friend like Gina.  Spending time with her brings me closer to the heart of God.  If ever there was someone that lived and breathed scripture it is her.  She embodies one of my favorite verses Romans 5:1-5:

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Through him we have also obtained access by faith into his grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.  Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

2015 couldn't be off to a better start.  We had a sleepover at Gina's house and spent time packing her lovely things for her upcoming move to California.  We enjoyed popcorn and a movie and stayed up way to late talking.  This time spent together was a huge blessing to me!  Gina- I love getting to be a part of equipping you for the next month of your life so that you are free to be used by God, to have more time to rest in his peace and to stand in his glory instead of being stuck at home overwhelmed with packingI pray that this year is full of blessings beyond your imagination and hopefully a few more sleepovers with me!  :)
