Like I mentioned a couple of days ago I plan to spend this month being intentional and blogging about it...but I don't know exactly what that is going to look like. It might be 31 goals, it might end up being 5 that I focus on for the month. We shall see! So here are my first couple of goals. Goal 1: Being intentional about when I wake up and when I go to bed.
My goal is to go to bed by 11 and to wake up by 7. I can be quite the night owl. I like to stay up late hanging out with Joel watching shows or talking in the hot tub, other times I am being productive. I have found that too many nights of staying up until 12 or 1 mean that I am pretty worthless the next day. So now I plan to go to bed by 11. Aria usually sleeps until 8 or 8:30 and sometimes (especially when I stay up too late) I would just let her be my alarm clock. I have found that when I wake up at 7:00 I can get a lot done before Aria wakes up and this sets a nice tone for my day. I start my morning with doing a devotional then I get one or two things done on my to-do list. This helps me be more relaxed and able to enjoy my time with Aria throughout the day.
Goal 2: Show/Tell people that I love them as often as possible
If I am missing someone, have a dream about them, think about them etc I am going to take time to tell them! I have always been the type of person that tells people that I love them, even if it is awkward. When my Aunt passed away recently I was so grateful that I had been intentional over the last year or so to tell her how much I loved and cared for her. Now that she is gone I have no regrets because I used the time I had with her. I think that my main purpose in life is to love people. I hope that being more intentional with how I use my time overall will help me love people more/better!
This week I was missing my momma so Aria and I made the trip to Wisconsin to spend time with her. Here are some snapshots of our time with her. The highlights include: Grandma, Grandpa, Maxine the dog, Henry the cat (who was hiding under the deck), caramel ice cream and our tradition of visiting the train depot.
Thank you for a fun visit Grandma & Grandpa! We love you :-)
