Friday I presented the book cart and the "Going For Gold" program and my students performed a play of their favorite book, "The Pout Pout Fish" at the school assembly. It was the culmination of all of the work I have been doing in October and having it done took a huge weight off of my shoulders. Next week the "book cart" will start going into classes and the "Going For Gold" reading competition begins and the 10 guest readers I scheduled to celebrate "National Young Readers Week" will hopefully all come. Please pray that all of that goes smoothly next week!
Saturday was such a wonderful day. Having all of that work stuff off of my plate I spent the day doing things I love to do. To begin with I slept in. Normally I wake up at 5:00, 15 minutes before my alarm goes off, because I have to go to the bathroom. Saturday I slept, cuddled my cat, and didn't wake up until 9:45. It was a beautiful start to my day. Then I took a candlelight shower. It was wonderfully relaxing and something I intend to continue. Next I got together with Shawn, for the first time in...way to long! We had lunch, went to Joanns, did a little bit of shopping and caught up on the last month and a half of each others lives. Then I went to Savers, another favorite past time. I was on the hunt for a few things I needed to put together a gift for my family gift exchange and was successful in that quest. I also found a couple of great things.
For 99 cents I got 50 spools of brightly colored thread
and for $2.00 I got a new container for my knitting projects.
After going to Savers I came home, made popcorn, watched a movie and had some crafty time!
I made 9 new baby headbands to send to the salon that is selling them!
I can't even tell you how good it felt to have an entire day to chose whatever I wanted to do!
Here is my goal for today: church, get together with the girls in my family, read and maybe even start a new project I have in mind...
