This past weekend a co-worker of mine got married. She is the dance teacher at school and we became friends while working on the school musical last year. Her wedding was beautiful and very unique. Presenting: Amy and Eric's Wedding in the Woods!
The wedding ceremony and reception took place at Amy's parents.
The ceremony was in the woods and the reception took place in the pole barn that her dad built just for the occasion!
When we arrived we entered the woods under this ivy covered arch.
Walking along the path there were framed pictures hanging from branches and their initials carved into the tree.
There were paper lanterns hanging from the trees that lit the path in the evening.
Then you came upon a trickling creek and a bridge to cross. At the top left of the picture you can see the platform in the tree that they got married on.
Last spring I helped Amy make the tutus that her flower girls wore. They were stinking adorable wearing them and the fairy wings.
Amy looked beautiful! Here she is walking down the aisle with her mom and dad.
Here is a closer picture so you can see her dress better.
You can also see the pathway in the background that lead to the reception.
After the wedding we followed the stone path towards the reception sight.
I loved the adirondack chairs around the fire pit. I wish there had been a fire to sit around!
While we waited for the reception to start Joel and I played around taking pictures.
The forest was gorgeous especially with the light coming through the trees.
You didn't have to walk through the corn field to get to the reception but again we were enjoying the scenery and taking pictures. You can see the pole barn in the top right of the photo.
I loved Amy's tree theme. We had a great time at the Spruce table with some of Eric's old co-workers.
Here was their first dance to Dave Matthew's "You and Me". It was adorable. It was followed by the father daughter dance and then a choreographed dance done by the wedding party. It was a great party!
